Youth Soccer Coaches and Manager Requirements

Coach, Assistant Coach, and Manager

Soccer is one of the most popular sports in the world, so many communities like ours have soccer teams that need coaches. The majority of youth teams rely on volunteers for their coaches.  To volunteer to become a soccer coach for Cleburne Soccer Association, you will have to follow these steps BEFORE we establish the teams for the season.

Click on each section below to find out and complete the requirements to coaching soccer each season. All coaches need to complete Safesport Certification and a full background check through Gotsport.

PLEASE NOTE: ALL COACHES MUST BE APPROVED BY THE DIRECTOR OF COACHING. SIGNING UP TO COACH DOES NOT GUARANTEE YOU WILL GET A TEAM.

RECREATIONAL COACHES ARE NOT ALLOWED TO BUILD TEAMS AND BRING US A LIST OF PLAYERS. THIS IS EITHER AN ACADEMY OR COMPETITIVE TEAM. IF YOU WANT AN ACADEMY OR COMPETITIVE TEAM, CONTACT CSA@CLEBURNESOCCER.COM

Step 1 - Sign Up

Sign up to coach for the season.  You have to do this every season you want to coach.  We use GotSport to process the applications for coaches.  You must have a Gotsport account.  If you don't have an account, sign up for one.  If you do have one and can't remember your login credentials, contact csa@cleburnesoccer.com

Step 2 - Risk Management

Undergo a Risk Management check.  All volunteers that will instruct our players (managers and coaches) must have a background check.

IF YOU HAVE NOT SUBMITTED A BACKGROUND CHECK AFTER JUNE 1, 2023 YOU NEED A NEW ONE

In order to do a background check, log into your Gotsport account at https://www.gotsport.com/asp/coaches/

Go to your dashboard and follow the instructions to submit a background check. It will take a few hours for the report to come back with a result.  If you are approved, we can then put you in the coaching pool for a team.  If you are not approved, we cannot have you as a volunteer.  We are not made aware of why you weren't approved, just that you are not approved by the North Texas State Soccer Association.

Step 3 - Fact Sheets (Coaches Only)

Fill out a COACH fact sheet. A COACH fact sheet is needed to give us a little more information about you and your intentions to coach.  All Head Coaches must fill out a Team Fact Sheet.  This let's know you want to coach a team this year and what teams you want to coach.  We will do our best to accommodate your requests.

Step 4 - Coaches and Managers Meeting

The coaches and managers meeting is scheduled each season for all age groups. Please watch the website and your email for more information about the exact times and location. This meeting is MANDATORY for all coaches and assistant coaches.  If you cannot make this meeting, you must contact the Director of Coaches for an alternative plan. We cannot stress enough how important this meeting is for all coaches to attend.

Make sure all of your paperwork and other requirements have been completed prior to attending this meeting.
